The long awaited 39th Masskara Festival has finally been opened in Oct. 8, 2018 at the Bacolod City public plaza bandstand.
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the city and with the theme, “Happy Birthday, Bacolod”, the month-long festival celebrations has finally kicked off with the program.
The program started with a short message from Councilor Em Ang, MassKara Festival action officer.
It was followed by the ceremonial lighting and blowing of the Merzci celebratory cakes.
The program was headed by Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia who gave a toast to the city and declared the opening of the 39th Masskara Festival.
After the program, the celebrations continued with the Masskara dance number and the Zumba performances.
